Location
Currie is the largest township on, and is the administrative centre of, King Island in Tasmania, at the western entrance to Bass Strait. It is named after Archibald Currie (1830–1914), a Melbourne shipowner. It is a significant centre for the fishing industry, especially rock lobster.
