The Williams Cats compete in the Upper Great Southern Football League. The Cats were founding members of the league in 1959.

Williams is a town in the Wheatbelt region of WA, located 161 km south-southeast of Perth along Albany Highway and 32 km west of Narrogin. The Williams River passes through the town. The town is a centre for the wool, cattle and coarse grains industry, and serves as a stopping point on the Albany Highway. Williams is named after the Williams River, which is more than likely named after King William IV, king of England from 1830-1837.
