Harvey is a town in the South West of WA along the South Western Highway, located 140 km south of Perth, between Pinjarra and Bunbury. Its name is derived from the nearby Harvey River. Although not positively known, the river is most likely named after Rear Admiral Sir John Harvey RN (1778 – 1852). The town contains an agricultural college and the headquarters of both the Harvey Fresh and Harvey Beef brand names.
