Location
Mount Barker is a town in the Great Southern region of WA, located 360 km from Perth and 50 km from Albany. The town was named after Captain Collet Barker, who was in command of WA’s original British settlement at King George’s Sound from 1829 to 1831. The peak of Mount Barker lies 3.5 km southwest of the town centre, and reaches an elevation of 404 metres above sea level.
