The Newtown Condingup Lions were formed in 2005 via a merger between the Newtown Football Club (the Demons) and the Condingup Football Club (the Cougars).

Newtown Condingup’s breakthrough senior grade flag was attained in 2009 by means of a 16.18 (114) to 12.16 (88) grand final defeat of Ports.

Location
Condingup is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of WA, located 782 km southeast of Perth. The name is thought to be derived from the Aboriginal word ‘Kunjinup’, a local wildflower. Local industry includes cattle, sheep and grain production.
