The Esperance Football and Sporting Club was established in 1937 and competes in the Esperance District Football Association.
Esperance was a founder member in 1956 of the EDFA and won the first of its many senior grade premierships the following year. The club’s haul of flags includes three hat-tricks, while its most recent success in 2017 was the culmination – for now – of a record breaking sequence of six in succession.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of WA, on the Southern Ocean coastline, located 720 km east-southeast of Perth. Its major industries are tourism, agriculture, and fishing. French explorers are credited with making the first landfall near the present day town, naming it and other local landmarks whilst sheltering from a storm in this area in 1792. The town itself was named after a French ship, the Espérance. Espérance, is French for “hope”.
