About
University High School-Victoria University Amateur Football Club (UHSVU) is a community-based football club located in Parkville. The club began as the University High School Old Boys in 1932, and has played in the VAFA since our inception and has a rich history.
The club in 2002 formed an alliance with Victoria University to offer an attractive option to VU students wishing to play local footy. In 2006 we also developed an affiliation with the Flemington Junior Football Club to offer local junior footballers an opportunity to continue their playing careers through to a senior level.
UHSVU plays and trains at Brens Oval, in Parkville, which is in Melbourne’s inner north and close to the CBD. The oval is located off Macarthur Road, in Royal Park directly in front of Melbourne Zoo.
We are ideally located for residents of Parkville, North Melbourne, Kensington/Flemington, Carlton and Brunswick. Our ground is also handy to many students living in the area and/or attending the nearby University of Melbourne, Monash (Pharmacy), RMIT (City) and Victoria University.

Location
Parkville is a suburb of Melbourne, located 3 km north of Melbourne’s CBD. Before the 1870s much of the area was known as either Hotham (North Melbourne) or Carlton and during this time Parkville was simply a locality of Carlton. The name Park Ville came into common use after 1875 and was gradually shortened to its current form.
