Location
St Helens is the largest town on the north-east coast of Tasmania, located on Georges Bay about 160 km east of Launceston. It is known as the game fishing capital of Tasmania and is also renowned for its oysters. Its economy is based largely on tourism, fishing and timber. It is named after the village of St Helens, Isle of Wight, England.
