Gladstone is a small rural town in the Mid North of South Australia, located 211 km north of Adelaide and 38 km east of Port Pirie. Gladstone has the largest inland grain storage facility in the Southern Hemisphere, storing wheat, barley, durum wheat, peas, faba beans and fiesta beans.
Wirrabara is a town in South Australia, located along the Rockey River, 235 km north of Adelaide. The Horrocks Highway (Main North Road) passes through the town. The town’s name is pronounced “Rabra” by locals.
Laura is a rural town in the Mid North region of South Australia, located 12 km north of Gladstone on the Horrocks Highway and 40 km east of Port Pirie. The town was named by the pastoralist Herbert Bristow Hughes (1821-1892) after his wife, Laura.
