Established in 1986, the Ironbank-Cherry Gardens Thunderers competed in the Hills Football League (HFL) in South Australia from 1986 to 2022.
The Club merged with Bridgewater-Callington in 2023, and moved to the Southern Football League in 2024.

Location
Cherry Gardens is a semi-rural suburb of Adelaide in South Australia. Cherry Gardens’ early settlers included John and Benjamin Chambers, who were granted land in the area some time before 1844. The area was named for the native cherry which grew there in profusion.
