Location
Cowell is a coastal town on Franklin Harbor on the eastern side of the Eyre Peninsula, in South Australia on the Lincoln Highway. It is located 209 km north-west of Adelaide and 92 km south-west of Whyalla. The town is named after John Clayton Cowell (1832-1894), a British Army officer.
