The Barkly Australian Football League (BAFL) is based in Tennant Creek in the NT.
The competition began in 1991 after the Tennant Creek Football Club withdrew from the Central Australian Football League to form its own local competition.
Location
Tennant Creek is the 7th largest town in the NT, and is located approximately 1,000 km south of Darwin and 500 km north of Alice Springs. At the 2021 census, Tennant Creek had a population of 3,080 people.
Tennant Creek is also near well-known attractions including the Devils Marbles, Mary Ann Dam, Battery Hill Mining Centre and the Nyinkka Nyunyu Culture Centre.
