Tamworth is a city and administrative centre of the north-eastern region of New South Wales, located 420 km from Sydney. Situated on the Peel River, it is the third largest inland city in New South Wales (after Wagga Wagga and Albury). Famous as the “Country Music Capital of Australia”, it is named after Tamworth, Staffordshire, in England.
