The Muswellbrook Cats was established in 1988 as a Senior AFL club, with its men’s team playing in the Newcastle Football League until 1993. The team dissolved but reformed in 2003, joining the Tamworth Football League. In the last 20 years we have a lot of growth and change in the club.
Currently the club has both senior male and female teams in the Hunter Central Coast AFL Competition, as well as a healthy Auskick program facilitated by dedicated volunteers.

Muswellbrook is a town in the Upper Hunter Region of New South Wales, located 243 km north of Sydney and 127 km north-west of Newcastle. The area is predominantly known for coal mining and horse breeding, but has also developed a reputation for gourmet food and wine production.
