Location
Parkes is a town in the Central West region of New South Wales, located 355 km west of Sydney. It is named after Sir Henry Parkes (1815-1896), well known as the “Father of Federation”. Parkes Observatory, famous for “The Dish”, is located 20 km north of the town.
