About
The Sunshine Heights Football Club was established in 1971. The club was first known as Albion West under 11s, sponsored by the Albion Football Club. Norm Mcgrath from Braybrook Building Supplies suggested that a new club be started and a meeting was held at the St. Pauls Primary School and Sunshine Heights Football Club was born.
The Dragons first competed in the Western Suburbs Football League and have been a part of the Western Football Netball League since 1988.
The club has an original theme song which was written by Yohan Charles. He is a Welshman and that’s how we became known as the Dragons.

Sunshine is a suburb of Melbourne, located 12 km west of Melbourne’s CBD. Originally known as Braybrook Junction, it was renamed Sunshine in 1907, after residents had petitioned to change the name in honour of the Sunshine Harvester Works. Sunshine is a highly multicultural suburb, with many residents coming from all over Europe in the first few decades of the post-WWII period. It is the main centre for Melbourne’s Maltese community.
