About
The Deer Park Lions have competed in the Western Region Football League since 1935. When Deer Park was formed in 1925 it spent several years playing in competitions centered on Werribee and District. In 1935 it entered the FDFL and changed its name. This club was known as ICI after the large chemical firm that operated in the area. After World War II it reformed as Deer Park.

Location
Deer Park is a suburb of Melbourne, located 17 km west of Melbourne’s CBD. The suburb was originally named Kororoit Creek, after the creek running through the suburb, but was renamed after the Melbourne Hunt Club used the area to house their stock of game deer.
