University Hawks AFL logoAbout
The Hawks AFC was established in 1989. We relocated to the University campus in the early 90s and have remained there since. During this time we have enjoyed much success having won multiple Senior and Reserve Grade Premierships. Although we have been based at the University for a majority of this time, most of our members have been from the wider community and we have only relied on the University to top up player numbers. The majority of our office bearers over the years have all been from outside the University, a few of which have been involved with the running of the club since its inception in 1989.

In 2007 we decided that if we were going to survive, and in the interest of AFL Townsville and Junior sport in Townsville in general, we would need to address the issue of Junior Football. We commenced with an Under 10s and Under 12s team in that season. We continue to grow the numbers of our teams and players.
