Founded in 1972, the South Toowoomba Bombers Australian Football Club fields teams in each of the AFL Darling Downs competitions for both juniors and seniors. The club was known as the Longhorns from 1972 to 1997 and the Central Bombers from 2005 to 2006.

South Toowoomba is an inner suburb of Toowoomba, located directly south of the city centre. The suburb is home to St Patrick’s Cathedral, City Golf Course, the Downs Shopping Centre and St Saviour’s College.
